My Philosophy

Photographer's Statement: Art is that spark of creative questioning, seeking to see what others cannot, yet showing them what can be.

It is merely to discover, collect, arrange, create, anticipate or provoke exquisite subject matter; and then to choose, invent, or patiently wait for that properly illuminating and perfectly enhancing light, in order to utilize the proper electronic and mechanical equipment, and the optical and chemical principles and processes, which will isolate, immobilize, and capture the combination forever in a visually meaningful and aesthetically interesting way.

It takes only a camera and film.

It is almost as simple as writing, which needs only pen and paper; as sculpting, which requires only chisel and mallet; or as orchestra conducting, which demands only a thin stick and an evening coat.

My Equipment

Cannon, Nikon, Sony, Fugi...I use them all.

if you're a fan of traditional B&W and your own images with an enlarger, or you are into the more exotic film effects -direct positive, cross processing, bleach bypass and other special effects that are related to using altered chemistry on film and the unpredictable results you can get by using those techniques....but apart from that there isn't much point in using film

-sure you can imitate those effects in photoshop and LR but with cross processing and bleach bypass effects you really cannot accurately predict what you will get, that is what makes it all so much fun. I still use my film cameras and rangefinders because I like the way they are built, I still shoot square format medium format because I LOVE the compositional freedom of the square.
